Why every time I look at this, "Counting Stars" by One Republic plays in my head?

maybe it's because the album it came from was literally called 'Native' xD

Interesting...
I just don't understand how a lion can relate to a Native....

The fact that the lion could be a mountain lion which was sacred to the Cherokee.

Cherokee Cherokee.
I seem to hear that tribe everywhere nowadays.
It wasn't only the mountain lion that was sacred. All life forms are sacred in a way; some more than others.

I know what you mean. There are others out there. Can't remember when or why mostly the Cherokee was made so famous.

Yes. all life was scared, the owl and lion more so to that tribe.

I think it's because Wes Studi's probably the most famous Native out there right now and he's full-blood Cherokee. Though go to one of those morons that claim "I'm 1/88th Cherokee," tell them to name another Indian tribe they just give you a blank stare.

A lot better of an answer than I expected. But just so you know, Native Americans aren't always about feathers. We have a lot of pride as well (well, most of us anyway).
To be honest, I've only met one Native that was actually like the stereotypical Native [stern and "Talks. Like. This. Funny, hahaha" :P]. Most of us are actually quite laid back, joke around a lot, and we love to have fun. ^^
Does this help any? :)

Hmm alright then. But what about clothing, is it colorful and more revealing? =-O

To be absolutely honest, Natives dress just like every one else does nowadays.
But back then, we didn't put a lot of work into clothing. It was a resource to stay warm, you know? It wasn't necessarily revealing, but it wasn't covering every inch of their bodies.
Native American's used bones, pebbles, and other resources like that for beads until they had contact with settlers (mainly the French). They never wore full regalia (fully beaded detailed dresses or outfits) unless it was a special occasion. There's a myth buster.
Another thing was that if women were to bead something, they would keep passing down the item in the family until it had absolutely no use anymore. Native Americans hated wasting things because everything was a valuable resource; furthermore, it is very disrespectful to the animal itself. So we even use/deer tails as a decoration of some sort.
If a woman wore large animal teeth around her neck, it symbolized that her husband was a very strong and successful hunter. :3

Natives and ancient peoples don't get nearly enough love in art. Especially in the anime style.

If only I could draw... : (
